The Acute Clinical Health Psychology Service is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology to provide a specialised psychology service working within the Chronic Pain management team, based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Health Village. Aberdeen is a vibrant city, with good transport links, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty next to the Cairngorm National Park, and miles of beautiful coastline.
This is an exciting professional development opportunity, for an experienced Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology. The post holder will be part of strong, supportive psychology team which spans a number of rapidly developing multi-disciplinary services. The post holder’s time will work primarily in the chronic pain team.
The post holder will be responsible for delivery and audit of the psychology service to include routine assessment, individual and group interventions, consultation and training. There are a number of service developments currently ongoing and the post holder would be expected to contribute to these, including aspects of audit, evaluation and research.
The post holder will also be part of the wider Acute Psychology Service which includes psychologists working within a range of clinical specialities. This friendly, innovative team offers a wide variety of professional development opportunities, established teaching and research links with local universities, and collaborative working relationships with public health, the third sector and psychologists from other services locally and nationally.
Although previous experience in a physical health setting is an advantage, enthusiasm for working in this setting is more critical. Strong team working skills are essential. This is a permanent full time post.
