Offer description

We are looking for high-calibre person to join our Student Support Services team as a Student Wellbeing Advisor. This is a permanent, full-time position (35 hours). The position will be based at our Manchester campus and will be working with students using our Online provision as well as the traditional face to face campus’.

Please note: this is a hybrid position, with a minimum of three days on campus per week

There will be a requirement to work with students across the whole student population (UK & International settings) and occasional travel to other campuses will be necessary.

As Student Wellbeing Advisor you will play an active part in the overarching Wellbeing Team, sharing ideas and knowledge with other members of the team and with colleagues in the wider student support services department.

A s our Student Wellbeing Advisor, you will:

* Providing advice, guidance and information to academic colleagues on supporting students to overcome personal barriers to learning

* Assessing cases and decide on appropriate wellbeing interventions, including whether to refer to other internal or external services or agencies to best support the student, to provide holistic multi-disciplinary or support or to hold the case within the Wellbeing service

* Providing advice, guidance, information and support to students and learners on wellbeing-related issues that may impact on their ability to access and successfully complete their course of study

* Escalating cases where a risk is identified in line with agreed procedures and protocols to management or to the Head of Safe & Inclusive Campuses

* Supporting the Head of Safe & Inclusive Campuses by acting as a Safeguarding Officer for nominated campus

We are looking for people who are/have:

* Educated to at least degree level or equivalent level of experience

* Experience of working within a wellbeing or student advice department in an educational environment

* Experience of working with students under the age of 18

* Advocacy and mediation with students or young people

* Good negotiation and listening skills

* Crisis management and conflict resolution

* Ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
