Job Description:
D365 Business Central Functional Analyst
Rate: Up to £600/day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
We’re working with a long-established international commodities trading group headquartered in London. Following a partial rollout of Dynamics 365 Business Central across four entities, they are looking to consolidate and bring all finance and reporting functions fully in-house — including integrations with front office trading systems. This is a mid-sized, family-owned trading organisation with a decentralised structure, and the project sits at the heart of wider operational transformation.
The Role:
* Seeking a Business Central Functional Analyst with a strong understanding of finance processes in a physical commodities trading environment.
* Work alongside a small central PMO, external developers, and in-country finance users to standardise processes, enhance reporting, and embed D365 BC across all group entities.
* Support existing BAU activities, and develop internal expertise on the platform's full potential.
* Assist in integration work with their ETRM (Symphony), and bring external consolidation tools back in-house.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the functional optimisation of D365 Business Central across multiple legal entities.
* Act as the go-to SME for finance users (globally) in Greece, Turkey, Morocco, and London.
* Gather requirements, build reports, manage UAT, and support testing activities.
* Support integration between ETRM (Symphony) and BC.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and stabilise the platform.
* Advise senior stakeholders on system usage and best practices.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a D365 BC Functional Analyst, ideally in commodities or energy trading.
* Strong knowledge of finance processes — AP, AR, GL, month-end close, intercompany, consolidations.
* Experience working across international entities with differing technical and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to work hands-on, independently, and in an ambiguous or lightly structured environment.
* Comfortable operating in a lean team where delivery ownership is key.
Nice to Have
* Exposure to consolidations within mid-sized trading businesses.
* Background working with family-owned or non-corporate group structures.
