Electrical PLC & Control Systems Engineer .
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to be hands-on in driving innovation on the shop floor, not just maintaining systems, but designing and delivering bespoke automation solutionsto improve efficiency, reliability, and safety across our plant. Youll play a key role in the development and integration of new production lines and control systems, supporting high-impact projects that bring together mechanical and electrical design, process automation, and advanced safety technologies.

What we need from you to apply:
Strong hands-on experience with Siemensand/or IndramatPLCs, HMIs, and control hardware
Background in electrical design, control panel build, and machine wiring
Experience commissioning industrial plant or automation systems in a manufacturing setting
Knowledge of UK/EU safety legislationand functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 62061, ISO 13849)
Ability to manage technical tasks independently and communicate clearly across departments
Desirable:
Degree or HND in Electrical, Automation or Control Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience with cold roll forming lines, press systems, or high-speed automated machinery
Familiarity with industrial networks (e.g. ProfiNet, EtherCAT) and motion control systems
Certification or working knowledge in Functional Safety (SIL, PL, IEC 61508, IEC 62061)
What the role involves:
Diagnosing and resolving control system faults across industrial plant and machinery
Designing and developing PLC logic and HMI systems, particularly using Siemensand Indramatplatforms
Engineering new control system architectures for roll forming lines, press systems, and automation cells
Creating electrical schematics and panel layouts; specifying and procuring components
Building or supervising the build of control panels; machine wiring and system integration
Programming and testing control systems; leading onsite commissioning
Ensuring safety systems are designed and validated in line with UK/EU legislation (e.g. emergency stops, safety PLCs, SIL/PL compliance)
Collaborating with our mechanical engineers, maintenance team, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery from design to go-live
Salary:
£50,000 - £65,000 per year, depending on experience.
Hours:
Working 39 hours per week on days, Monday to Thursday 7.30am
4pm and Friday 7.30am
3pm.
