Description Personal Advisor (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children’s Service) | 9722 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £34,434 to £36,363 per annum | Grade H | Dereham As part of the UASC service development plan we are looking to expand our social care teams. The service is very friendly and supportive, and we have built a service culture which nurtures development, creativity, and child centred practice. Right now, we are looking for one Personal Advisor to work in our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children’s (UASC) Teams. We hope that you will have experience working with care leavers/adults 18 and understand the challenges they face in transitioning to independence/adulthood. This is an exciting service in Norfolk which continues to develop and grow. You will be part of developing the working practices within the teams as well as working closely with partner agencies to develop a robust, positive offer to those children and young people entering Norfolk (the UK) for the first time. We are a countywide team, therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle is required, but our main base is in the Breckland area – Dereham. However, we do use Norwich as a base for team meetings also. We are a hybrid service although encourage teams and workers to meet regularly in office spaces which are hybrid friendly. Breckland is a particularly beautiful part of Norfolk. Predominately rural but with not too much travelling across the area for our teams. The area has easy access to the A11 and the A47 and within easy reach of the city of Norwich. Thetford is home to the beautiful Thetford Forest with an array of activities on offer, from cycling to open air concerts. Dereham is a traditional market town with numerous restaurants and shops.
