At Cedars Care Home, we have an exciting opportunity for a Care Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, working 3 x 12-hour day shifts each week from 8.00am to 8.00pm. You must be flexible with your availability and be willing to work alternate weekends.
Purpose of Role:
As a Care Assistant, you will show warmth and support to residents, helping to promote independence and dignity, and positively enhance the lives of individuals in your care. If you have knowledge and experience caring for elderly people, come from a caring background, and have a genuine love and understanding of older people, this job could be for you.
Key Duties:
1. Provide a high level of care to our residents ensuring their wellbeing.
2. Provide personal care, maintaining a high level of hygiene.
3. Accurately record observations in accordance with the resident’s conditions, inform the Senior Nurse on duty of any changes, and respond accordingly.
4. Support residents to maintain their independence.
5. Identify and assist with residents’ needs.
6. Serve meals.
7. Assist residents as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Ideally, you will have some experience in the healthcare sector, although training will be provided.
2. Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3 is desired but not essential.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends.
5. Caring personality.
6. Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
