The Supply Specialists are looking to recruit several SEN Teaching Assistants to support in schools in Widnes.
The schools we work with are both very accessible by car/public transport, and trial days are being arranged as soon as possible.
We have both part-time and full-time SEN opportunities available – so whether you're looking for something consistent or a role to fit around study or another job, we have the right position for you
About the SEN Teaching Assistant role:
You'll be supporting students aged 5–16 with a range of special educational needs. This may include autism (ASD), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, learning difficulties, or sensory processing differences.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 or small group support in the classroom
* Helping pupils access learning and develop independence
* Building positive and supportive relationships
* Encouraging social, emotional, and academic progress
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff
Ideal candidates for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
* Psychology, education, or SEND-related graduates looking for hands-on school experience
* Care workers, residential support staff, or healthcare assistants with transferable skills
* Youth workers, sports/activity leaders, or mentors with experience of engaging young people
* Individuals with personal or professional experience of SEN support
What you will need for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
* Experience working or volunteering with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
* A patient, proactive, and understanding approach to supporting individual needs
* Confidence in promoting inclusion and adapting to different learning styles (training provided)
* A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
