Job Details

Fixed-term: The funds for these posts are available for 2 years in the first instance. There are two positions available totalling 1.6 FTE, so part-time options are available.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Teaching Associate (between 60 and 100% FTE), who will support a pilot project in the Natural Sciences Undergraduate Course (Tripos), led by the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, as part of the Pathways to Inclusive Practice programme. This change programme incorporates recommendations from the Review of Teaching and the Review of the Approach to Provision for Disabled Students, as well as commitments made within our Access and Participation Plan (2025-29).

Responsibilities

* Map and improve Inclusive Practice within the Natural Sciences Tripos (NST) across the Schools of the Physical and Biological Sciences.
* Support creation of competence standards and learning outcomes across NST.
* Work towards creation of more accessible materials and improved systems for management of student support documents.
* Create resources and support for staff.
* Contribute to understanding awarding gaps within NST.

You will work under the supervision of the Chemistry Department Curriculum Review leads, together with undergraduate teams in NST departments across the Schools of the Biological and Physical Sciences, with support from the Inclusive Education Hub and key colleagues in our central specialist teams.


Qualifications

Educated to PhD level, and/or with an appropriate teaching qualification, you will have a background in STEM education at University or FE level, with a proven track record, as well as an academic interest and professional experience in the development of inclusive teaching practice in STEM.
