Radiology Assistant

Band 3 Radiology Assistant – full or part time positions available.
Due to the opening of a new Community Diagnostic Hub in Workington, we are actively recruiting Radiology Assistants to support high‑quality, patient‑centred care. The role is designed to support Radiologists, Radiographers, and Sonographers, providing services 24/7 throughout the year. Applicants must be flexible, organisational, and confident in discussing new ways of working to improve service efficiency.
Successful candidates will work flexible hours (shift rota) including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and rotating to community and diagnostic hub sites.
Key duties include patient care, portering, image handling, clerical work, use of computers, and support of the radiology team to deliver safe and effective diagnostic imaging. The role involves patient transfer, reception tasks, telephone handling, and medical record entry. Liaison with NHS staff and the public ensures efficient service delivery.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
* Vocational (NVQ) qualifications level 3 in care or equivalent
* National Care Certificate or commitment to complete during induction
Experience
* Work experience in a caring environment
* Experience interacting with the general public
