An opportunity has arisen at Bettys Café Tearooms in Harrogate to join us as the Manager of our beautiful Imperial Suite. Bettys has long provided a background of elegance and charm for the most distinguished of gatherings. Nowhere is this more evident than up the short flight of stairs to our first-floor Imperial Suite. With stunning views of the Stray and located in the heart of Harrogate, it’s the perfect setting for celebrations and business events. Flooded with natural daylight, the spacious and elegant Imperial Suite is extremely versatile. Its two interconnecting rooms can be used together or booked separately, allowing a variety of seating arrangements. As Imperial Suite Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that you and your team deliver excellence in the running of bookable afternoon tea, private events, meetings and functions, ensuring all of our customers receive excellent levels of service. A passion for networking and the ability to entice new customers to our business is a must. You will also be responsible for driving the commercial performance of the department to ensure it is the best it can be: achieving excellence in customer service, engaging and motivating a team, as well as maintaining the highest brand, food hygiene and health & safety standards, all within a fast-paced environment. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours over 5 days. The start and finish times can vary depending on opening hours which may include some early mornings or later finishes. About you You’ll have a background in managing a luxury customer service or hospitality/front of house department and ideally experience of managing events and event operations. This role offers the variety of managing the day-to-day operational team management side with the opportunity to use your strong commercial skills to identify, develop and increase sales. You’ll have experience of people management including leading and motivating a team. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers. You’ll have some knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures. Ideally you will have previous experience of working to KPI’s such as food costs and labour budgets.
