Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership and support to breast care nursing teams on-site
* Assist in delivering efficient, patient-focused breast clinics, diagnostics, and procedures
* Coordinate with consultant surgeons, radiologists, and administrative teams to ensure smooth service delivery
* Maintain high standards of documentation and compliance with NHS and 18 Week Support protocols
* Ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for patients attending breast services
* Act as a point of contact for clinical escalation during insourcing sessions

Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years experience within Breast as a Band 5 Nurse.
* Minimum of 2yrs experience in a Leadership role (Senior SN to Dept Ward Manager).
* Minimum of 1yrs experience at 18WS (equates to working a minimum of 12shifts)
* Managing 1 to 2 room services within specialities.
* You will take accountability along with a consultant (where appropriate) to uphold all aspects of patient safety.
* Able to demonstrate competence in alignment with the Outpatient/Endoscopy/Surgical Competency model
* Where appropriate coordinate a small clinical team, overseeing local queries and managing on site resolutions escalating where required
* with both 18WS and trust staff.
* Ability to identify, initially manage and escalate a deteriorating patient
* Continuously uphold CQC, JAG, BSG etc related standards of care.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory frameworks, inclusive of CQC, NMC and IG
* Complete all Lead RN Paperwork. Including Lead RN report, Datix requirements, patients of concern and end of day check lists
* Understand the requirements for compulsory participation and contribution to audit, ensuring audits are completed and submitted within time frames identified
