Description
A long‑established manufacturing business in Crosby is seeking a senior finance professional to take ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function and act as the main on‑site point of contact for all finance activity. You will be supported by an external accountancy firm for year‑end and payroll, allowing you to focus on smooth, consistent financial operations throughout the year. You'll oversee the finance function end‑to‑end, ensuring accurate records, well‑maintained controls and timely reporting to the directors.
Key responsibilities
* Managing daily finance activity using Sage 200
* Overseeing sales and purchase ledger processes
* Managing supplier payments and supporting cashflow
* Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining control accounts
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Producing monthly management information and financial reports
* Supporting budgeting and basic forecasting
* Coordinating with external accountants on year‑end preparation
* Maintaining strong financial controls and documentation
* Assisting with import/export documentation and duty deferment admin
* Acting as the senior on‑site finance contact for suppliers, customers and advisers
* Providing occasional support to the wider office team

This role suits an experienced accounts professional – AAT, part‑qualified or qualified by experience – who is comfortable operating as the senior finance person within an SME.
