Job Title: Workshop Technician
Location: Dover Workshop, Kent
Reports To: Workshop Manager
Job Description:
As a Workshop Technician, you'll help maintain, prepare, and repair mechanical equipment both in the workshop and on-site. You'll support installation jobs, assist with general maintenance, and ensure all work follows safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring technical skills and a strong focus on health and safety.
Main Duties:
1. Prepare and maintain equipment in the workshop
2. Assist with mechanical tasks and installations on-site
3. Use tools and machinery safely and correctly
4. Follow all safety procedures and wear the correct PPE
5. Support maintenance and troubleshooting work
6. Travel to sites as required, using your own vehicle
7. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Workshop Manager or Project Managers
What You'll Need:
8. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
9. Experience working with tools and mechanical systems
10. Health & Safety certifications (e.g., CSCS or CCNSG)
11. Certifications for operating lifting or workshop equipment
12. Willingness to work overtime when needed
13. Personal tool kit (job-specific tools are provided)
Pay & Hours:
14. £17.77 per hour (standard rate)
15. Overtime available:
After 6 PM weekdays - 1.5x
Saturdays - 1.5x
Sundays - 2x
