Nurse Hysteroscopist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Gynaecology Service within the Women & Children’s Division as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist - Hysteroscopist.
We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and compassionate clinician to deliver high-quality outpatient hysteroscopy services across our MSE hospital sites. You will take responsibility for your own patient caseload and play a crucial role in ensuring timely, safe, and effective diagnostic pathways for women.
Main duties of the job
* Perform independent outpatient hysteroscopy procedures, including diagnostic examinations and minor therapeutic interventions, in line with national BSGE‑recognised standards.
* Assess, triage, and prioritise referrals to appropriate clinics or clinicians.
* Manage own caseload, including diagnosing, acting on results, initiating treatment per local/national guidelines, and arranging follow‑up.
* Provide specialist clinical advice and patient support, ensuring evidence‑based, compassionate, high‑quality care.
* Discharge patients appropriately back to primary care with complete documentation.

* Support the development, review, and implementation of clinical guidelines and care pathways for the hysteroscopy service.
* Contribute to audit, service improvement, patient experience feedback, and quality assurance.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Accredited Nurse Hysteroscopist
Knowledge and experience
* Demonstrable autonomous experience working as a nurse hysteroscopist
* Experience in teaching, assessing and coaching
* Good level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
Other
* Provide support to the Clinic Manager and Deputy with the day to day operations of the clinic, and assume responsibility for cover in their absence when required
* Act as a role model to junior staff leading by example at all times
