Overview
The 7 Force Procurement Team is a new shared service supporting the seven police forces across the East of England. This collaboration manages third party spend of approximately £230m per annum, making the 7 Force Collaboration the second largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police.
The 7 Force Commercial Services Procurement Specialist for Operations & Community Services will lead and deliver on \u2018Tactical Acquisition\u2019 & \u2018Tactical Profit\u2019 procurements within the Operations & Community Services Category, and manage all strategic Contract Management & Supplier Relationship activity within the allocated category. The role aims to secure better value for money from contractual arrangements and ensure contracted benefits are delivered. The post holder must interact with senior management and represent the 7 Forces as a collective or individually as required.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver on tactical acquisition procurements within the Operations & Community Services category across the 7 Forces.
* Manage all strategic contract management and supplier relationship activity for the allocated category.
* Influence external bodies (e.g., Home Office, Crown Commercial Services, Police Digital Service, BlueLight Commercial) and participate in nationally led initiatives as appropriate.
* Engage with budget holders and operational contract owners to ensure the procurement pipeline reflects business needs and priorities.
* Collaborate with senior level management and represent the 7 Forces as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Ideal education: CIPS Level 5 in line with CIPS structure guidance, or evidence of equivalent experience, technical knowledge, and expertise in procurement within a complex public-sector environment.
* Must provide evidence against minimum entry requirements of the role.
* Security vetting: Management MV and Security Clearance; checks will include UK residence history (RV 3 years or MV 5 years from date of application).
Location & Benefits
* Location: Dependent on applicant location; base could be within any of the seven forces (Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Suffolk).
* Salary: £46,359 with Market Rate Supplement of £6,375 per annum.
* Working arrangements: Full-time, permanent.
