Mechanical Engineer - Hospital Maintenance (Steam & Pressure Systems)
£30 per hour | Start ASAP | Basic DBS Required
Job Overview
A leading mechanical and plumbing contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work at a hospital near London Bridge. This is an ASAP start, initially for 3 months, with strong potential for ongoing work. The role requires a strong background in steam and pressure systems, as well as experience with industrial boilers, chilled water systems, AHUs, and HVAC systems. A thorough understanding of all listed systems is critical.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and remediate steam and pressure systems
* Work on industrial boilers and associated plant
* Maintain chilled water systems
* Maintain AHU and HVAC systems and perform fault finding
* Conduct general mechanical maintenance within a live hospital environment
* Repair pipework, replace valves, and service system components
* Ensure compliance with site safety and hospital regulations
Location / Work Details
* Location: Hospital, London (near London Bridge)
* Hours: 8am-5pm (8 hours working, 1 hour unpaid break)
* Rate: £30 per hour
* Duration: Minimum 3 months, with potential for ongoing work
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer working with steam, boilers, and pressure systems
* Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, AHUs, and HVAC systems
* Experience within hospital or critical environments preferred
* Valid Basic DBS (essential)
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
* Own tools and full PPE
* CSCS card preferred
