About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology (Textiles) lessons across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE and A-Level Textiles. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of textile techniques, design principles, and manufacturing processes, encouraging students to develop their textile knowledge, understanding, and skills. Facilitate student-led design projects, workshops, and exhibitions, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills. Assess student progress through design portfolios, practical assessments, and written analyses, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Textiles curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current textile trends and best practices in textile education. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as textiles clubs, fashion shows, and participation in design competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field. Extensive experience teaching Design and Technology (Textiles) to GCSE and A-Level, with a focus on both design and manufacturing aspects of the subject. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A passion for fostering creativity and developing textile skills in young people. Knowledge of a wide range of textile techniques, design principles, and manufacturing processes. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
