Job summary: To support the Senior Medical Administrator in providing a comprehensive administrative service to the medical teams within the Bolton Adult Community Mental Health Team.
Responsibilities: Undertake general office duties including typing of medical and other correspondence, actioning requirements identified within the typing. Answer and manage calls from service users and their carers/relatives and other health and social care professionals. Book appointments for service users and send all relevant correspondence relating to service user appointments, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
Main duties include: undertaking audio/clerical duties for a team of medical staff including minutes of meetings, typing of clinical letters and reports, clinical activity data inputting onto the electronic patient record system ensuring accuracy at all times. Be the first point of contact for patients, carers and external agencies. Liaising with GP surgeries, social services, coroner's office and other hospitals. Be part of the multi-disciplinary team. Some reception cover in times of absence, booking of patient appointments and managing of medical teams diaries.

Education/Qualification
Essential: 2 years of previous office experience or equivalent demonstrable experience; GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
Desirable: IT-related qualification; RSA/NVQ qualification.
Experience
Essential: Use of IT equipment; working in a confidential environment.
Desirable: Medical terminology; contact with patients/service users; patient administrative background; knowledge of Performance and Data Quality.
Skills and abilities
Essential: Ability to prioritise and plan conflicting and complex work demands; outstanding communication skills; advanced keyboard skills; ability to navigate IT systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); caring and sensitive attitude; mature disposition; numeracy and ability to provide statistical data accurately.
