Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to support our educational team in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with students, including those with special educational requirements and disabilities, to promote their learning, development, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children to help them reach their full potential.
Duties
* Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering engaging educational activities tailored to individual student needs.
* Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism and other disabilities, ensuring they feel safe and included.
* Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students improve their academic and social skills.
* Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging participation and promoting behavioural development.
* Observe and record student progress, reporting any concerns or notable achievements to the supervising teacher.
* Support behavioural management strategies and implement personalised learning plans.
* Assist in organising classroom materials, resources, and activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative approach to education.
Skills
* Experience or training in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
* Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring children is advantageous.
* Knowledge of working with children on the autism spectrum is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
* Organised with strong organisational skills to manage classroom resources efficiently.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment dedicated to inclusive education.

Pay: £24,420.00-£47,423.17 per year
