As a Casual Stable Manager at Sedgefield Racecourse, you will help with the maintenance, preparation and presentation of the racecourse stables. This will mainly involve cleaning out stables to a high standard and making sure everything is ready for upcoming race meetings.
Responsibilities
* Take full responsibility for the stables, veterinary treatment box and sample area.
* Maintain correct documentation and registers.
* Maintain the stables ground, surrounding area and stables office.
* Operate CCTV and liaise with the Hostel/Inn manager regarding staff requirements.
* Ensure the stables have been cleaned out to a high standard according to BHA guidelines and ARC Standard.
* Under the direction of the Clerk of the Course, carry out a maintenance programme for the course.
* Work outside in changing and inclement weather conditions and carry out physically demanding tasks.
* Use various gardening and agricultural equipment, machinery, vehicles and chemicals in the process of carrying out duties.
* Abide by all regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications
* Reliable, practical and happy to get stuck in.
* Practical experience of stables maintenance and veterinary procedures is an advantage.
* Strong organisational and documentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively under instruction from the Clerk of the Course or Head Grounds Person.
