Senior Project Officer Location: Brighton (you don’t need to be in the office every day, travel to the office would be expected for key company and team events which are typically once a month) Remote or hybrid: Hybrid (UK working only) Hours: Full time 37.5 per week Closing date: Tuesday 28 October 2025 As a Senior Project Officer you will perform a critical role within our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change Practice, playing a key role in leading the delivery of projects or programmes throughout their lifecycle and coordinating business development activities and supporting practice processes. It’s a key role in the business providing day to day continuity across the Practice working closely with the Commercial Practice Manager and other Senior Project Officers. Project Delivery & Commercial Expertise Working across varying projects to support delivery of a portfolio of high risk and complex projects, leading on essential processes and relationships for successful commercial delivery. Dependent on Practice priorities, the core functions of the role could include one or multiple of the following high-level duties: Perform the role of Itad Project Manager on lower risk projects in the portfolio that our commercial model allows, and commensurate to your skills and experience, with oversight of an assigned Project Officer, delivered as per Itad’s Project Management Manual. For high risk and complex projects, work in collaboration with the Project Manager, Project Officer and Practice Administrator to perform the role as a Senior Project Officer following Itad’s processes and systems. Provide commercial leadership across Frameworks where applicable. Business development. Work in collaboration with Practice Leadership Team and Business Development Officer to support the commercial approach to winning and delivering high-impact projects and managing the bid process. Day to day tasks under Project Delivery & Commercial Expertise will include: Project managing/ sharing project managing duties on projects/ complex projects. Pro-actively identifying project risks and mitigation. Ensuring travel and security deployments in high and extreme risk countries are planned effectively with the Global Safety and Security Team. Monitoring and updating of complex and multiple project budgets, resources and workplans within the project and financial management platform – Microsoft Dynamics 365. Creating bespoke financial and commercial reports for internal and external requirements. Collaborating with the project team to assist with project forecasting. Monitoring actual costs against budget, estimating cost to completion and client invoicing milestones. Support the sales and or purchase invoice processes ensuring that they are planned with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and timeliness Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure Itad’s Client and Subcontractors requirements are managed diligently and efficiently. Assist in the development and implementation of bid pricing strategies, provide commercial support and guidance to bid teams, and coordinate proposals and expressions of interest to ensure alignment with Itad’s commercial strategy. Update this data within Microsoft Dynamics 365. People and Leadership As a Senior Project Officer you will take a lead on establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will proactively seek feedback to improve relationships and project delivery and will address concerns quickly and appropriately. The expectation is that you manage others effectively and provide clear and consistent feedback. Day to day tasks under People and Leadership will include: Resourcing - Supporting the Commercial Practice Manager and Practice Leadership Team with resource coordination. Collating data and reporting to ensure every individual has a clear resource plan and day-to-day workload, working hours, holiday requests, portfolio resourcing and annual leave cover is managed effectively. General Management - Contribute to the running of the practice including attending and preparing for regular team briefings and Practice meetings. Potential Line Management and Coaching / mentoring to junior staff if the contract duration is extended. The role has the prospect to include direct line management responsibility including specific, goal orientated, quality improvements for identified individuals via ‘on the job training’ and regular coaching to achieve career goals, including any salary or promotion process sponsorship. Building IGCC Practice The role will support other wider business improvements (‘Building Itad’). This requires leadership of broader initiatives that can cascade to members of the Practice and the wider business, to contribute to our continued improvement and Itad best practice. Commercial – Identify commercial excellence improvements such as efficiencies in delivery, project budgets, GP tracking, and standardisation across Itad’s account management groups that can be applied to the benefit of all Itad’s portfolio. Encourage use of MS Dynamics for reporting and insights by others. Quality management – Foster opportunities to develop existing QA process. Contribute towards project management excellence in the Practice by supporting Project Managers in the delivery of their responsibilities and rolling out capacity development activities. Business development systems – collaborate with the Business Development team to coordinate systems that allow for pipeline management and reporting, the recording of interactions with potential clients, as well as bid qualification, risk management and bid sign-off.
