As a Senior Finance Manager - External Reporting, your role will be to lead a finance team and be responsible for all technical and statutory aspects of Greene King’s financial reporting and compliance. This role has a focus on external reporting and includes Statutory Reporting, delivery of the external audit, technical accounting and judgements, and CKA reporting.

The Corporate and Strategic Finance team partners with the CEO, CFO, COO, and CXO, and their respective teams. The team consists of high-performing finance professionals who, in addition to providing technical expertise and setting policy in the fields of Tax, Treasury, and External reporting, support and drive the business in Property, Procurement, Operational Excellence, and strategic projects, whilst business partnering the Corporate Functions. The overall team is further responsible for setting the Group planning agenda and strategic plan and driving the results to balance the needs of the business and the shareholder.


Job Description


Your role as a Senior Finance Manager - External Reporting

* Lead a finance team and be responsible for all technical and statutory aspects of Greene King’s financial reporting and compliance, focusing on external reporting including Statutory Reporting, delivery of the external audit, technical accounting and judgements, and CKA reporting.
* Promote the team’s work and educate across Greene King, whilst driving continuous improvement and efficiency across the team.
* Build relationships across the finance community, particularly at peer level in the Centre of Excellence.
* Develop strong relationships with CKA to discuss relevant accounting/statutory items.

Further responsibilities include:

* Take ownership of technical accounting areas, draw conclusions, agree positions with external auditors, and implement agreed accounting positions.
* Review and set accounting policies and drive compliance across the wider finance function and across the business where appropriate.
* Manage all aspects of external reporting from periodic reporting to the group’s parent shareholder to the group annual report and quarterly securitisation reporting.
* Support the statutory accounts manager to deliver all subsidiary statutory accounts.
* Be the main point of contact for the external audit and develop a strong relationship with the External Audit Senior Manager, proactively discussing and resolving issues as necessary.
* Manage IFRS 16 and other PPE related transactions for the group.
* Responsible for subsidiary accounting across several areas e.g. IFRS 16, PPE, tax, intercompany.
* Develop and automate complex and changing reporting requirements, ensuring best practice is balanced with pragmatism and accuracy.
* Drive specific accounting projects as required e.g. Fixed Assets / IFRS 16 / financial due diligence.
* Support the tax team as required e.g. CBCR reporting.
* Ensure intercompany balances and distributable reserves are regularly reviewed and, where required, trigger the process for a dividend, assignment of intercompany, etc.
* Regularly review the group’s organisation structure identifying further opportunities to streamline the group’s structure.

* Continue to develop own talents and strengths and address any areas of self-development.
* Prioritise workload and allocate accordingly to drive value-add activity, triaging requests as appropriate and setting the agenda to the team.

* Ability to flex with changing priorities.

Qualifications


Qualified accountant, with proven technical experience.
