Job purpose
The Senior Hospitality Assistants work closely with the Chef (Care Home) to prepare and cook food for residents in our care homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide daily food and drinks service across the care home, including cooking, preparing snacks, and finishing food prepared externally.
* Assist the Chef to ensure quality, timing, and compliance with dietary and nutritional needs.
* Deputise for the Chef, including cooking meals in the absence of the Chef.
* Support residents with food presentation and plating.
* Conduct daily checks on food temperature, labelling, and allergens.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
* Manage stock, including rotation and ordering.
* Close down the kitchen safely at the end of each day.

Other Skills and Qualifications:
* GCSEs in maths and English or equivalent.
* Experience in care home and catering environments.
* Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
* Diploma or NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Food Service or equivalent.
* Experience supervising a team.
