About The Job
As a first line manager, you will manage small teams, develop staff potential, promote a positive work environment, ensure service levels, plan workloads, set objectives and targets, manage enquiries, deliver cost‑effective service meeting priorities, lead projects, monitor performance, present findings, and manage a limited budget. You will carry out technical tasks, liaise with stakeholders, attend meetings, and represent Kirklees Council with a customer‑focused commitment.
Key Role And Responsibilities
* Contribute to and deliver within budget an efficient and responsive service to meet customer and political priorities.
* Work with internal and external partners including businesses, communities, voluntary sector, councillors, other council services and staff.
* Proactively develop, sustain and promote a positive internal and external image of the Service when dealing with customers and partners.
* Support the management and development of the Service to help deliver its own and corporate priorities.
* Improve services through business/process redesign and effective project management.
* Participate in training and development; be educated to a degree level or possess specific training or relevant experience.
* Meet the criteria outlined in the ‘Person Checklist’ to be shortlisted.
Eligibility and Requirements
You must have a degree or be fully trained for the tasks, or demonstrate equivalent experience through relevant training. Candidates must satisfy the Person Checklist criteria.
