Temporary Inclusion Support Assistant – Upper KS2 Cheadle Primary School Aspire, Believe, Achieve 26.25 hrs (Monday – Friday) – to 19.12.2025 in the first instance Term-Time Plus 6 Inset Days Grade 5 Points 6-9 FTE £25,989-£27,254 (Pro-rata) Pay award pending Actual Salary Is Dependent On Continuous Service Cheadle Primary School is a vibrant, inclusive and nurturing school where the wellbeing and development of every child is central to everything we do. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Inclusion Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for our pupils. About the Role: As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will work under an agreed system of supervision, to supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, including implementing work programmes, managing pupil behaviour and assisting pupils in relevant activities in line with the school’s policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include: Provide structured support in accordance with specific work programmes designed and supervised by individual teachers. Support the teacher in the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans. Assist in maintaining classroom discipline through the implementation of the school’s behaviour management strategies. Provide support to pupils to achieve learning goals, e.g. guided reading. Supervise pupils for a particular curriculum activity under the supervision and guidance of a qualified teacher. Assist the teacher with the planning of learning activities. Assist the teacher in monitoring pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed. Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, etc. Provide general admin support, for classroom activities e.g. produce worksheets for agreed activities etc. About You: We are looking for someone with: At least a year of experience working to support children’s learning in a relevant educational setting. NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent). Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths. Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice. An understanding of curriculum matters and to be able to contribute effectively to curriculum development, planning, evaluation and implementation. In depth understanding of areas of learning, e.g. English, maths, science, SEND or Early Years. Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes. Ability to plan effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving. Effective use of ICT to support learning. Well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people. Work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to demonstrate initiative. Good communication skills. Positions at the school are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment to a post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
