The Outsourced Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper Role
This role sits within the firm’s outsourced finance function, supporting a varied portfolio of clients. Responsibilities include:
* Bulk processing of invoices, expenses and financial transactions
* Credit control duties
* Bank and control account reconciliations
* Preparing VAT files and returns, including month‑end reconciliations
* Supporting managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
* Setting up online accounting software
* Keeping up to date with VAT rules and accounting software developments
* Communicating with clients and HMRC, both verbally and in writing
* Working closely with colleagues to deliver a coordinated service
* Maintaining regular client contact to provide proactive support
* Filing and document management
This is a hands‑on role with excellent exposure to clients and modern cloud‑based systems.
About You
You will ideally bring:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice using online accounting software
* A genuine interest in cloud accounting, tech‑enabled processes and advisory services
* A commitment to delivering first‑class service
* The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
* Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply software knowledge
* Confident written and verbal communication skills
* Adaptability and strong organisational skills
