Percival are excited to be working with the brilliant theatre charity The Big House to help them appoint a new Executive Director.
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with leadership experience to come and help lead the charity.
The Big House is a charity that supports care leavers through theatre, helping them build confidence and life skills. They offer workshops, mentorship, and performance opportunities to aid personal growth. They have a community of over 500 people and are transforming peoples lives through the power of performance. TBH has members working across companies like Netflix, BBC and Amazon too.
Title: Executive Director
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Hackney, London (Onsite)
This senior leadership role will lead on the operational, financial, and legal management of The Big House, ensuring the effective delivery of its programmes, productions, and services. Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will balance artistic ambition with robust financial control, oversee organisational strategy and business planning, and ensure strong governance, compliance, and sustainability. You will also act as a senior ambassador for the charity, supporting fundraising activity, partnerships, and income growth across earned and contributed streams.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Have significant senior operational leadership experience within a charity, arts, or not-for-profit organisation
* Demonstrate strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cashflow, and oversight of restricted and unrestricted income
* Be experienced in working with Trustees on governance, strategy, and organisational performance
* Have oversight experience across fundraising activity, including pipelines, income diversification, and grant compliance
* Bring confident people management and HR experience, including performance, wellbeing, and organisational culture
* Be comfortable representing an organisation externally, negotiating contracts, and building strategic partnerships
