We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive primary school team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child who requires additional support with their learning and emotional development.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored 1:1 support, helping the pupil to engage positively with learning, manage emotions, and develop social skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Contract: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
* Provide individualised support to a pupil with SEMH needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
* Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
* Assist with academic tasks, adapting resources where necessary.
* Build a trusting relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and independence.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals.
* Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.
Requirements
* Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school-based experience preferred).
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) desirable.
