The Opportunity As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll take the lead in designing and building serverless, event-driven solutions using modern AWS architecture. This is your opportunity to shape best practices, mentor peers, and play a key role in scaling systems that support millions of customers — all while driving technical direction in a collaborative, forward-thinking team. You’ll join us on a salary starting of at least £72,000 per annum, with potential for an annual bonus. This is a hybrid role, with the flexibility to work from home alongside attending one of our offices – in either London, Hove or Exeter – once per month, or more frequently if you prefer. From cloud-based technology to collaborative pair programming, EDF will support your growth across the full stack – alongside AWS vouchers and opportunities to mentor junior engineers and participate in hackathons, Dev Days, and industry seminars. Who You Are We’re looking for a Software Engineer who thrives on collaboration, teamwork, and innovation. For this Senior Software Engineer role, you need to offer demonstrable experience in… Building applications from conception to delivery and supportability Front-end and back-end serverless AWS capabilities Conceptional design, working with UI/UX on components Commercial React frameworks – React Native and TypeScript, or equivalent Using Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure as code tool At least one server-side language, such as Python/Node.js RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including the integration of third-party APIs What You’ll Be Doing In addition to expanding your knowledge and building great applications, you’ll enjoy a collaborative and dynamic start-up culture, combined with the stability and backing of a large organisation.
