Maintenance Team Leader
Reporting to the Estates and Facilities Supervisor, the Maintenance Team Leader will coordinate day‑to‑day maintenance activities and provide hands‑on support across the Hospice sites as required. They will line‑manage the Maintenance Assistants, planning and prioritising workloads and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate day‑to‑day maintenance activities.
* Provide hands‑on support across Hospice sites.
* Line‑manage Maintenance Assistants and allocate tasks.
* Plan and prioritise workloads.
* Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
* Support the team using IT and modern software.
* Maintain a strong working knowledge of general maintenance and building trades, including plumbing, painting and decorating and carpentry.
* Apply current health and safety legislation.
* Coach and support team members.
* Undertake further training as required.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification or substantial hands‑on experience in general maintenance and building trades (plumbing, painting and decorating, carpentry).
* Comfortable using IT and modern software.
* Sound understanding of current health and safety legislation.
* Confidence to lead and support others, including allocating tasks and monitoring progress.
* Willingness to undertake further training.
Salary & Conditions
Salary: £27,357.44 per annum. Contract type: Permanent. Working pattern: Full‑time. Please note a part‑time vacancy is on a pro‑rata salary basis.
