Join to apply for the Senior Waste Consultant role at Jacobs. The main focus of this role will be on Middle East projects. However, this position will be part of the UK Waste and Resource Efficiency Team and will have the ability to work other UK waste related projects.
Responsibilities
* Waste strategy – Review of development proposals to identify preferred waste management approaches (waste segregation, storage, collection and treatment) to underpin waste management strategies. This includes development of technical reports to support RIBA design stages for architecturally led building and master plan projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.
* Circular economy strategy – Incorporate circular economy opportunities into the design and operation of projects as requested by clients.
* Waste arisings modelling – Develop Excel models to estimate waste arisings to inform the development of waste strategies, including municipal solid waste and construction and demolition waste estimates.
* Optioneering/feasibility studies – Produce optioneering or feasibility studies at early project stages to identify a preferred waste management approach, considering technologies such as automated waste collection or large-scale facilities.
* Waste management design – Collaborate with architects to design and plan waste management as part of building and master plan projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, goods/logistics, structural and MEP specialists.
* Site waste management planning – Prepare site waste management plans or contribute to construction environmental management plans for management of construction and demolition wastes.
What you’ll need
* A good degree qualification in a relevant environmental/natural science/waste management or similar subject.
* Experience with and strong technical understanding of waste and resource management.
* Experience of working on international and/or Middle East waste management projects.
* Knowledge and experience addressing challenges and opportunities relating to waste and resource management.
* A proven track record of successful delivery on environmental and/or waste projects and programmes in client-facing roles.
* Excellent report writing skills and substantial experience of report writing, presentations and workshop delivery.
