Shifts - Two days followed by two nights, four days off.
Salary - £52,201.30
Act as a role model for safety and take personal responsibility for safety, acting when unsafe behaviour is observed or reported.
The role involves executing routine tasks (daily/weekly/monthly), effectively operating plant and equipment within Utilities, performing maintenance as per competency level, and ensuring safety standards and product quality. The Operator coaches peers using VPO tools and processes to ensure team results and maintains high housekeeping standards.
Accountabilities:
* Receive shift handover, ensure logs, checklists, and SAP info are updated, and communicate relevant info to team and FLM.
* Prepare for morning Utilities Meeting with FLM, update on production and issues.
* Plan shift activities to meet deadlines, including ordering chemicals, CO2, and PI follow-up.
* Follow chemical delivery processes, update systems and paperwork.
* Maintain SAP, checklists, logs for accurate handover info.
* Coordinate with Quality regarding out-of-spec utilities.
* Monitor PI trends, identify performance issues, and address them.
* Monitor Sigma for utility downtime and challenge departments on booked downtime.
* Complete VPO processes timely and correctly.
* Report hazards, record incidents, assist in investigations, and inform FLM.
* Monitor E&F performance and respond accordingly.
* Maintain Zone Hygiene and VPO standards, report achievements.
* Support breakdown situations, support fault finding and repair, escalate if needed.
* Conduct shift handover with detailed plant info.
* Support operations: utilities duties, plant adjustments, quality checks, sampling, material quality, safety, plant changeovers, waste management, asset handling, SOP updates, ITF initiatives, daily meetings, compliance, housekeeping, KPI and VPO activities, training, and documentation.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
* Trained and skilled to train operators on core Utilities areas like WTP, Boilers, CO2 Recovery, Compressors.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Good computer, numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently, using initiative.
* Capable of multi-role within the area.
* Understanding of KPIs/PI’s and their link to performance.
* Organized, systematic, able to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work independently.
