Position Overview
Relief Nursery Practitioner – Grasshoppers Day Nursery, St Albans (Al1 4PL). Permanent contract, 0 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Working pattern: varied, ad‑hoc shifts Monday‑Friday between 07:30‑18:30. Salary: £12.87–£14.33 per hour.

Responsibilities
* Provide care for babies and children up to five years old, ensuring a friendly, safe environment.
* Plan and implement engaging activities aligned with EYFS to support children’s learning through play and exploration.
* Contribute to child observation records and support learning journeys.
* Advocate for safeguarding, ensuring every child feels safe, valued and happy.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents and children, maintaining strong and positive relationships.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience caring for babies and children aged five and under, preferably in an early‑years setting.
* DfE‑approved early‑years qualification at Level2 or above is advantageous but not essential.
* Solid knowledge of child development and EYFS practices.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with children, parents and staff.
* Right to work in the UK and suitable for a DBS check; VISA sponsorship is not available.
* Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of the nursery.
