About the Role:
As a Local Environmental Quality Coordinator, you'll coordinate and project manage various environmental quality and certification programmes within the LEQ department. Working closely with the Local Environmental Quality Manager, you'll ensure effective delivery, maintain stakeholder engagement, and supervise departmental officers, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordination: Manage resources, including field officers, to deliver programme outputs effectively within budget and deadlines.
2. Project Management: Lead on planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental quality initiatives.
3. Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate certification programmes such as Blue Flag, Green Flag, and cleanliness surveys across boroughs and neighbourhoods.
4. Community Engagement: Develop and enhance community participation in sustainability initiatives, promoting award programmes and expanding geographical coverage.
5. Communications: Act as the primary point of contact, respond to technical enquiries, represent the charity at events, and prepare relevant content for various platforms.
6. Research Support: Assist in research and policy analysis to drive environmental sustainability, staying updated on survey and assessment methodologies.
7. Authority and Decision-making: Commission work aligned with procedures, manage stakeholder communications proactively, and assist in marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or three years' equivalent experience, with at least 1 year in surveying/auditing, 2 years successful programme delivery experience, and 1 year staff supervision.
Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Full current driving licence and access to transport.
Additional Requirements:
* Understanding of environmental issues (essential). Experience with behaviour change principles (desirable).
* Effective independent and team working abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Working Conditions:
* Occasional travel throughout Northern Ireland.
* Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as needed.
Salary and Contract:
£30,328 per annum, permanent contract (subject to funding).
