New Directions Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and creative Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school on the Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner who can inspire students, deliver practical and engaging lessons, and contribute to a thriving Design & Technology department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils
2. Planning and preparing engaging practical and theory-based lessons
3. Ensuring safe use of kitchen equipment and adherence to health & safety procedures
4. Assessing student progress, providing feedback and supporting exam preparation
5. Maintaining a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
6. Working collaboratively with the wider DT department and school leadership
The Ideal Candidate
7. QTS/QTLS with specialist experience in Food Technology
8. Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver creative, hands-on lessons
9. Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
10. Organised, proactive and committed to raising pupil achievement
11. Experience within secondary schools (ECTs also welcome to apply)
