Permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon - Alfreton, Derbyshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Alfreton for a Permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, along with 1 in 5 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The role
10. Two site practice and the role involves working between them both.
11. No OOH allowing for a great work-life balance
12. The position involves both consultation and surgeries.
13. The role offers a varied case load both medical and surgical cases
14. The practice are able to offers some flexibility on working hours
15. You will be working alongside 5 vets, 1 RVN and 2 ACAs
16. They vet will be expected to provide excellent health care to all patients and excellent advice to all pet owners
17. The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients
18. They have a certificate holding vet on site and another is about to start studying towards a certificate
19. This role is ideal for a vet who is looking to move into a senior role where they can eventually progress to a clinical director role
20. Ongoing development and support for certificate study is available

22. Fully equipped with diagnostics including endoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, full in-house laboratory and K-laser to support our chronic pain services

About you
36. The practice are looking for a passionate and experienced vet who will fit well into their team
37. You will be competent in routine surgeries and consultations
38. You will be a team plater and be able to establish strong working relationships
39. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and looking to continue in their professional development and study towards a certificate however this is not essential
40. You will have excellent communications skills and client facing skills and be able to build good working relationships easily
41. You will have a positive attitude and show empathy and warmth where required to both clients and team members
Package
42. Salary: Up to £75, per annum, commensurate to experience
43. Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
44. CPD: Generous allowance of £1, with 5 days to attend
45. Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
