Robertson Bell are supporting a Public Sector organisation based in the Telford area to recruit a Finance Manager on a 12-month contract. This is an office-based role however, a hybrid working arrangement could be explored - dependent on experience.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the organisations day to day financial operations to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, as well as support strategic decision-making. You will also act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including budget holders, auditors, and regulators.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Oversee the production of the monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
* Leading on cash flow forecasting and overseeing all aspects of cash management.
* Supporting the annual budget planning and three-year financial plan.
* Managing internal controls and ensuring adherence to financial procedures.
* Line managing a small but high-performing team.
The Successful Candidate:
* A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA)
* Strong technical skills including experience preparing statutory accounts
* Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
* Confident working with financial systems and a high level of Excel proficiency
Experience working in the not-for-profit or public sectors is highly desirable.
