IT Systems and Support Manager
Part-time (Approx. 20 hours/week)
The Luminos Fund, a fast-growing international nonprofit bringing education opportunities to the world's most vulnerable children, seeks an experienced IT Systems and Support Manager to support the organization's IT functions.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Systems and Support Manager who can maintain and improve our internal IT infrastructure, provide training and support to staff, and manage strategic projects—most immediately, a comprehensive redesign and reorganization of our SharePoint platform. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a digital work environment and enjoys helping others succeed with technology.
The IT Systems and Support Manager will be the first point of contact for all internal IT needs and will also liaise with external IT vendors when needed. This part-time role reports to the Global People Officer and collaborates closely with team members across the organization.
The ideal candidate will be based in the GMT time zone, working remotely or based in our London or Accra office. Occasional travel to challenging contexts in Africa and the Middle East may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Device Deployment and Configuration
·Procure, plan, stage, image, and deploy laptops and other end‑user devices in line with organizational standards.
·Manage system patching, software updates, and hardware inventory.
Strategic Projects
•Lead the redesign and reorganization of the SharePoint platform to improve collaboration, document management, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
•Identify, prioritize, and deliver special IT projects aligned with organizational goals, security needs, and budget.
IT Support and Training
·Serve as the primary contact for IT support, troubleshooting login issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
·Provide individual and group training sessions on digital tools (e.g., Outlook Calendar, SharePoint, Slack, Lattice, OneNote, Zoom).
·Translate technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical staff.
·Carry out team-wide training sessions on effective set-up and use of digital tools, e.g. creating folders in Slack, using Slack and/or OneNote to organize meeting notes, use of AI assistant in Zoom etc.
·Coordinate with external vendors for escalated IT issues.
Hosted Application Administration and Security
·Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online).
·Support Salesforce and other program configuration, permissions, and troubleshooting.
·Manage account provisioning and deactivation and support cybersecurity best practices.
·Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Azure Active Directory.
·Implement and support identity and access management solutions (e.g., Single Sign‑On and Multi‑Factor Authentication).
·Provide configuration, user provisioning, and support for Slack, Zoom, Lattice, and other collaboration tools.
·Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
·Support cybersecurity best practices, including compliance with global data regulations (for example, General Data Protection Regulation).
·Conduct regular reviews system access and configurations.
Advisory and Planning
•Advise leadership on IT strategy and digital infrastructure, including budget and planning.
•Identify and evaluate new tools (e.g., AI assistants, recruitment platforms, storage solutions).
•Document IT processes and maintain an internal knowledge base, and create training resources.
Required Skills and Experience
·Demonstrated patience and a supportive approach in helping team members with varying levels of tech fluency; able to build confidence and capacity through clear communication.
·Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems support and administration, with a track record of supporting remote and globally dispersed teams, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
·Deep experience with the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Azure Active Directory.
·Experience managing and delivering complex IT projects, including defining scopes, timelines, budgets with cross-functional input.
·Strong training and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in accessible language.
·Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
·Solid understanding of identity and access management, Single Sign‑On, and Multi‑Factor Authentication.
·Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, data protection, and compliance standards.
·Experience managing external IT vendors and service contracts.
·Ability to work independently across time zones and navigate cultural and language differences.
·Fluency in written and spoken English and discretion when handling sensitive information.
·Experience with Salesforce and Slack administration is a plus.
