We are working with a high-performing secondary school in Haringey that is seeking a confident and ambitious English Academic Mentor to support students across GCSE and A-Level English. This is an ideal opportunity to gain paid, school-based experience before progressing into teacher training.
English Academic Mentor The Role:
* £500£550 per week (pro rata, term-time only paid weekly via PAYE)
* Full-time role from September 2025 to July 2026
* Deliver focused English intervention sessions to small groups and individual pupils
* Work within a successful and collaborative English Department
* Support pupils across a range of academic abilities, helping them to excel
English Academic Mentor What You Need:
* A 2:1 or 1st Class English degree from a top 30 UK university
* At least one year of experience tutoring, mentoring or supporting young people
* Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
* A genuine desire to pursue a career in teaching
* A proactive and compassionate attitude, with a commitment to pupil progress
