In this vital role, you will work closely with staff and students to promote a calm, respectful, and safe learning environment. You will help students develop the social, emotional, and behavioural skills needed to engage positively in school life and achieve their full potential. The Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will support the Behaviour Manager and wider pastoral team in responding to behaviour concerns, implementing interventions, and promoting high expectations across the school. Your work will help remove barriers to learning and ensure continuity of education for all students. Your key responsibilities will include: Supporting the implementation of behaviour policies and individual support plans Responding to behaviour incidents in real time and helping to de-escalate situations Providing 1:1 or small group support focused on emotional regulation and positive behaviour Liaising with pastoral teams, Heads of Year, and safeguarding leads to provide joined-up support Recording and tracking behaviour incidents accurately and maintaining relevant documentation Building trusted relationships with students to support their personal development Supporting reintegration meetings and restorative conversations What We’re Looking For: We are looking for someone who is calm, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviour in a secondary school setting. You will have a firm but fair approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing.
