The role
You will design, build and deploy enterprise AI systems inside client Microsoft 365 environments, translating business workflows into secure, scalable AI-enabled processes.
You are equally comfortable:
* In a boardroom discussing AI operating models
* In a Microsoft tenant configuring Copilot Studio and Azure OpenAI
* In a workshop mapping workflows and identifying automation opportunities
This role is heavily weighted toward Microsoft enterprise environments, but requires broader enterprise AI literacy.
Core Responsibilities
1. Enterprise AI Architecture (Microsoft-Weighted)
* Design AI system architecture within Microsoft 365 environments
* Build and deploy agents using Copilot Studio and Power Platform
* Configure Azure OpenAI integrations
* Design secure data access patterns (SharePoint, OneDrive, CRM, Teams)
* Implement human-in-the-loop checkpoints
* Create scalable architectural patterns rather than one-off builds
2. Client-Facing AI Transformation
* Participate in AI audits and structured diagnostics
* Translate workflow mapping into technical architecture
* Advise on licensing (Copilot, Azure, ChatGPT Enterprise)
* Contribute to AI strategy design and operating model decisions
* Support governance framework development
* Engage confidently with IT, risk and senior leadership
3. Agent & Workflow Build
* Build production-ready AI agents and workflow automations
* Design multi-step AI-assisted processes
* Configure secure connectors and APIs
* Establish documentation, version control and internal standards
* Create reusable templates across clients
4. Governance & Enterprise Readiness
* Define data boundaries and access controls
* Align builds with enterprise security policies
* Support implementation of audit logging and monitoring
* Advise on AI risk mitigation and guardrails
* Ensure client confidentiality is preserved at all times
5. Internal Systemisation at Apply AI
* Develop repeatable AI architecture playbooks
* Help scale Apply AI’s delivery model
Required Experience
Essential
* Deep experience with Microsoft 365 architecture
* Hands-on experience with:
* Copilot Studio (or Power Virtual Agents)
* Azure OpenAI
* Power Automate / Power Platform
* API integrations
* Experience deploying AI or automation in enterprise environments
* Comfortable working directly inside client tenants
* Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
* Familiarity with ChatGPT Enterprise or multi-LLM ecosystems
This is a hands-on enterprise architect role with transformation exposure.
