We are looking for an experienced Endoscopy Nurse or an existing Band 5 who wishes to have a career change and work in a more specialist area of nursing with further career development, with a passion for learning Endoscopy.

We are actively working towards securing accreditation through the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as a high-quality gastrointestinal endoscopy service. Our focus is on ensuring that our patients receive high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.
You will be working as part of a friendly, welcoming and expert Multidisciplinary Endoscopy Team who are friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging in a happy working environment. Mentoring, training and guidance will be provided to the successful candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
* Act as a Staff nurse within the Endoscopy Team, with duties varying day to day, including admission and recovery of patients and assisting with Endoscopy procedures, providing airway support or scope assistant duties after completion of training.
* Rotate through different roles across both sites and work with specialties including Gastroenterology, Urology, Colorectal, Respiratory, Vascular & Cardiology.
* Receive in-house training with additional support from external sources.
* Be part of a Unit and Trust committed to supporting staff development, with opportunities for training and external training available.
* Work closely with Medical and Nursing staff within the department while upholding Trust Values.

Communications and relationship skills
* Provides and receives complex information, including care plan discussions with patients.

* Plan and organise a defined caseload of patients on an ongoing basis.

* Maintain safe custody of drugs; perform checking, witnessing and administration procedures per statutory and Trust requirements.
* Respond to complaints/concerns in the absence of senior roles and escalate as required.

* Contribute to data collection for research and audits; identify audit topics relevant to the ward/department.

* Support team wellbeing and foster a culture of learning and innovation; adopt reflective practice to continually improve.
