GSL Education are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a special school based in Hook. You’ll be part of a team of professionals centred around students with complex needs, learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and SEMH needs. We offer the chance to work closely with young people, families, and professionals to create brighter outcomes every day.
This role is at a SEN school located in Hook and they are looking to secure a passionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work in an inclusive classroom with children who have special needs, sensory needs, require personal care, are non-verbal. The school is looking for someone who is keen to develop and will thrive by working collaboratively within year teams.
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:
* Working with children in the classroom setting
* Managing challenging behaviour
* Working with students one-to-one
* Acting as a positive role model to students
* Taking an interest in and supporting the well-being of students
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant role:
* Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar
* Has a positive attitude
* Can engage children in and out of the classroom
* Feels confident managing challenging behaviour
* Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
* Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
