What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Birmingham, responsible for accounts preparation services for a wide range of clients. The primary responsibilities include managing a portfolio of clients, liaising with other departments and clients, and supervising junior staff. You will also be involved in training and developing team members and supporting senior management with client work and team management.
As Financial Reporting Manager, your responsibilities will include
* Reviewing work performed by team members, including FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS, and consolidated group accounts.
* Ensuring clients receive efficient, proactive service and managing client expectations by liaising with Clients, Partners, and staff to keep all parties informed.
* Monitoring billing, lock-up, staffing levels, and WIP provisioning, supporting management with administrative tasks and projects.
* Providing technical support and training to team members to improve output quality.
* Monitoring staff performance, conducting appraisals, and providing timely feedback.
* Preparing proposals for new work and developing opportunities with existing clients.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
* Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA).
* Have significant experience in large entity statutory accounts within a professional services environment.
* Have experience working with entrepreneurial, OMB, and SME clients.
* Possess experience and interest in business development activities, including proposal preparation and accounting standards knowledge.
* Have excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, directors, partners, and colleagues, along with strong organizational and time management skills.
* Have previous experience managing staff to ensure optimal performance and a good understanding of skill requirements at various levels.
