Purpose:
The Extrusion Setter is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality hose products. This role involves adjusting machine settings, troubleshooting issues, and conducting quality checks to meet production specifications and safety standards.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Setting of all equipment on Extrusion Lines including tools and ancillary equipment as directed by Team Co-Ordinator, within required time periods.
Responsible for ensuring all Extrusion lines are running efficiently
Responsible for the completion and recording of all Quality checks as specified by the Quality Department and escalating any non-conformities.
Support the care and maintenance of all Extrusion Tooling ensuring they are suitable for the tasks required.
Responsible for the training, monitoring and supervising all machine operators to do the task they are required to perform.
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment ensuring all gangways are kept free from hazards and all componentry and equipment is stored in the correct location.
Responsible for ensuring that all Company procedures and methods are adhered to
Conduct Shift Handovers to incoming shifts
Assist in Maintaining and updating parameters and registers
Assist in the repair of equipment with technicians and other setters where necessary
Identify equipment not fit for purpose.
Prepare for and assist in stock checks as required by the Company
Report to Senior Setter at the first opportunity of production personnel absenteeism
Operate any machine within Plastic Processing when not required in Extrusion
Key Skills:
PVC Knowledge / flexible plastics within extrusion. Must have a positive approach to the work environment.
Capable of working under limited supervision
Tenacious and driven to succeed in a demanding and testing environment

High degree of flexibility / initiative

Capable of performing administrative work, miscellaneous paperwork, and data collection
Education and/or Experience
Experience of setting and monitoring Extrusion line processes
Good maintenance knowledge
Good verbal skills to communicate Technical information
Instruct team members in the correct application and use of PPE
Manage all materials for the line/cell in an accurate and proper manner
Manage and control hazardous substances in accordance with appropriate legislation
