Join Our Team as a Credit Control Clerk

As a vital part of our Finance department, you will be the go-to person for supporting various areas of the business. Your role will be instrumental in finding solutions that help us deliver on our promises to customers and exceed their expectations. Plus, you’ll be part of an inclusive team environment where you can have fun while making a difference!
This position offers flexible hybrid working, with 2-3 days in our Ashford, Kent office for team collaboration and meetings. We’re looking for someone who is within a commutable distance.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Manage your own portfolio of accounts, ensuring adherence to payment terms and credit limits while mitigating risks and potential bad debts.
* Foster effective working relationships and maintain open communication across all finance teams and internal colleagues.
* Deliver excellent customer service by building and nurturing strong relationships with customers.
* Meet targeted KPIs using established department procedures.
* Handle incoming calls and accurately record all queries to support cash collection activities.
* Manage queries by providing copy invoices, proof of delivery, credit notes, and liaising internally to resolve payment issues.
* Participate in internal and external customer meetings.
* Escalate any internal or payment issues with customers to management.
* Continuously seek improvement and identify best practices that positively impact business results.
* Perform other ad hoc duties as requested by your Team Leader/Manager.
About You:
No previous finance experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive training. However, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a keen interest in Finance or Credit Control.
You should be comfortable using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and v-lookups) and possess strong communication skills to engage effectively with both external customers and internal colleagues at all levels.
