* Ongoing role, 3 months in first instance, to be extended if mutually agreed

* 1 in 4 telephone on-call commitment with onsite commitment weekends
* Candidates not on specialist register will be considered too
The postholder will participate in the provision of a comprehensive clinical medical microbiology and infection prevention & control service across the Trust, including: advice regarding appropriate specimens; involvement in specimen analysis; validation and interpretation of results for transmission to clinical users; involvement in the management of individual patients through full clinical liaison; provision of antibiotic advice; support for a programme of antibiotic stewardship; provision of advice and guidance on infection prevention & control.
To participate in an on-call rota for the provision of an out of hours microbiology and infection prevention & control advisory service across 2 hospitals in the Trust.
