Job Title: Carer
Job Reference: JH-ZR-Suffolk
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)
Hours: 4 hours per week (term time); 8 hours per week (school holidays)
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.00
Based at: Employer’s own home in Beck Row, Suffolk and out in the local community.
Responsibilities
* To support with: Personal care e.g. washing, dressing and toileting. She will need prompting with washing hands etc.
* Constant supervision is always required.
* Support with all safety aspects, child has no safety awareness, so it is key to always provide constant supervision.
* To be a social friendly companion to the child.
* To support and encourage sensory play, going outdoors, going on walks, going to the park, baking etc. She likes baking, prepping and chopping.
* The young girl can become agitated at times, so you will need to be aware of her triggers.
* To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
* To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

* Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
* Be patient and supportive.
* Be friendly and outgoing.
* Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
* Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
* Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Have experience with working with children with autism.
* You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
* Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
Special Conditions
This post is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check at the Employers request prior to commencing employment. The post carries a 6-month probationary period.
