We are looking for electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers to join our Water Utilities Division in the UK.
The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for the UK and Ireland’s water and wastewater challenges. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide services across the full project lifecycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design. We deliver best-in-class solutions to clients while offering diverse and technically stimulating opportunities to our people.
Responsibilities
You will undertake a wide range of EICA tasks as part of a multidisciplinary team, typically including:
* Electrical power distribution design
* Control system design
* Specifying local renewable and back-up systems
* Developing plant layouts
* Cabling and installation design
* Instrumentation selection
* Lightning protection assessments
* Writing system control strategies
* Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment
You will work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that enhance the company’s reputation and help secure further work.
Candidate specification
Essential:
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Two years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
Desirable:
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline (Working towards)
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
