Job Title: Senior Gas Engineer
Location: Merseyside / North West England – travel across residential and commercial sites
Salary: £22.00 - £25.00 per hour
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to join our team in a senior capacity. This role involves servicing, maintenance, breakdowns, and occasional installations across residential and commercial sites in the North West. Some plumbing duties will also be included.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead service, maintenance, and breakdown activities for gas, LPG, and air source heat pump systems
* Undertake occasional installation work to a high standard
* Perform plumbing tasks including pipework, leak detection, and repairs
* Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
* Diagnose and repair faults in gas appliances and central heating systems efficiently
* Conduct safety checks in line with current regulations and industry best practices
* Accurately record work using PDA or other reporting systems
* Participate in out-of-hours rota (overtime and call-outs)
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required
* Assist with heavy lifting during installations or repairs
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining safety standards
Requirements
* ACS Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT (essential)
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plumbing & Heating (minimum)
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent knowledge of gas legislation, regulations, and compliance standards
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Flexible and adaptable to varied work and schedules
* Exceptional customer service skills with professional on-site conduct
* Proven experience as a Gas Engineer
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for various gas systems
* Additional qualifications (LPG / air source heat pump) highly desirable
